Part listening session, part discussion group, Listening Together invites participants to engage deeply with the act of hearing and experiencing music and sound. How do we listen? What words do we use to describe what we hear? How can we maintain our individual tastes while developing a shared understanding of music’s pleasure and value?
Drawing on the practice of deep listening, this workshop creates a safe and attentive space to explore and decode the elements of music that move and inspire us. By critically discussing what makes us respond to certain musical expressions and sharing these unique reactions, participants strengthen their ability to create and work collaboratively with musical material. Listening Together offers a platform for exchanging ideas and skills around music, sound, composition, recording, and performance, fostering artistic connections across disciplines, all centered on the shared experience of listening and conversation.
