“The Crossing” was the first creative act of the European project TIMES (The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes) — a network that brings together Semibreve and nine other festivals to create and share electronic music programming. Focusing on the ever-complex issue of political, geographical, and human borders, the project was divided into two performances curated by Semibreve, Unsound, Berlin Atonal, and Sónar: Białowieża, by Chris Watson and Izabela Dłużyk, and A Forbidden Distance, by Saint Abdullah, Eomac, and Rebecca Salvadori — both presented during the 2024 edition of Semibreve.
This year, we revisit the memories of these moments by screening the two documentaries directed by Andrzej Załęski, who followed the creative process of both projects. These films offer an intimate look at the conception and execution of the performances, revealing the encounters, decisions, and dynamics that shaped each show.
TIMES, The Independent Movement for Electronic Scenes, is a collaborative project that brings together 10 European festivals to create original performances combining music and visual arts. The project is supported by the European Commission through the Creative Europe programme.
