Emeralds

The ship took off in 2006, with three crew members on board: John Elliott, Mark McGuire and Steve Hauschildt. They left behind, on their trail, a generous estate that recounts their quests through the cracks of the Cosmos, among hallucinating accelerations and journeys taken in a contemplative mode. Like all challenging expeditions, Emeralds’ career was short but intense: in 6 years, there are countless spontaneous releases that worked as an illustrative ship’s log of their production. But for those who seek the key moments inscribed in the celestial map there are five albums that document perfectly the importance of Emeralds in recent electronic music. That is why the re-entry in the atmosphere — unexpectedly, by the way — in 2023 with its three elements, is worthy of celebration. And fortunately for us, one of the few observation points for it will be at the Semibreve festival. Or, if we want to be exuberant, here is one of the high points of this year’s programme.
