Her timely 2019 debut, "In Bloom", earned Kalia Vandever instant praise from the North American jazz community, quite a feat for someone who had only graduated from Julliard two years earlier. She spent the next few years on the concert circuit, as is often the case with artists who are destined to soar high, in performances ranging from collaborations with other jazz artists to guest appearances alongside pop megastars. Exploring the world in search of new terrain for compositions is undoubtedly a part of her mission in the music scene. And in 2024, on her first solo record “We Feel In Turn”, she is here to show us free and spontaneous writing that touches the ether, creating emotional spirals that swirl in the space around us. The record features ambient instrumental pieces born out of improvisation and infused with the magic of deep listening. She says it's music born from her memories, and we can add that it's certainly destined to stay in ours.
