João Galante

A key figure in Portuguese performing arts, João Galante is renowned for his collaboration with Ana Borralho that began in 2002 and has been developing projects in a variety of artistic areas, including performance, dance, installation, photography, sound art and video art. In many of these works (as well as those of other creators), we can hear music created by him, signed as C001gate or Coolgate, marked by abstract, electronic and concrete soundscape designs that exert a sort of gravitational allure, captivating our attention. In his rare appearances as a DJ, he demonstrates the same ability to captivate, offering us the opportunity to become the central characters in his dramaturgy. For a creator as João Galante, a stage is always a stage.
