Inspired by the currents of the Piave River in Italy, where the peaceful present and the tragic past of the wars it witnessed intertwine, Ava Rasti composes a sound atlas of fragmented memories that she re-contextualises and reinvents as echos amidst the river’s stones, sediments and silence. In “The River”, she immerses us in a listening experience that spans time, matter and memory, through a composition of sounds that repeat and fade, like distorted memories or ghostly sounds in emotional landscapes. Each track is a portrait of trauma, loss and confrontation. In this live performance, which features a string quartet for the first time, Ava Rasti creates a circular musical organism that navigates between delicacy and noise, harmony and rupture, exploring the sound archaeology and providing a soundtrack to a fading memory.
